Why is EMC shielding important?
EMC - Electromagmetic Compatibility.
EMI - Electromagnetic Interference.
Where a cable enters a control cabinet the effects of EMI can be reduced by grounding the cable shield to the cabinet. This ensures that the resistance is kept to a minimum and the risk of interference or failure is greatly reduced.
A good way of connecting the cable shield to the control cabinet is by using an EMC shield clamp. This allows for the shield to connected quickly and provides an excellent contact between the cable shield and the clamp.
